In a series of senior appointments sanctioned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and announced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, significant leadership changes have been introduced across multiple government bodies, particularly impacting the MEP and construction industries.
His Excellency Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita has assumed the role of Director General of Dubai Municipality. A respected figure in engineering circles, he now leads one of Dubai’s most critical authorities responsible for regulating construction, setting infrastructure standards, and issuing building permits.
Omar Bu Shehab has been appointed as Director General of the Dubai Land Department and will concurrently serve as Chairman of the Board at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. These positions closely align him with Dubai’s real estate governance and expansive housing programmes, both of which typically involve MEP-heavy developments.
Additional Appointments:
•Dr. Alawi Alsheikh-Ali as Director General of the Dubai Health Authority
•Mohammed Al Shehhi as Acting CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment
•Major General Hareb Mohammed Al Shamsi as Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Affairs
•Major General Ahmed Zaal Al Muhairi as Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Administrative Affairs
These developments signal a strategic evolution in Dubai’s governance, with anticipated effects on regulatory frameworks and infrastructure initiatives throughout the emirate.
