Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has revealed that its customers completed approximately 12.5 million digital transactions in 2023, marking a 25% increase from the around 10 million digital transactions recorded in 2022.
This demonstrates DEWA’s prominent role in supporting the visionary goal of making Dubai the world’s smartest and happiest city. The digital transactions comprised over 2.1 million on DEWA’s website, more than 3.2 million via DEWA’s smart app, and over 6.8 million through various digital channels provided in collaboration with partners.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD CEO of DEWA, highlighted their commitment to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision for Dubai’s digital transformation, emphasizing the use of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and blockchain. DEWA’s advanced digital infrastructure has significantly increased smart adoption, reaching 99.62%, with over 90 projects digitally integrated with 65 government and private organizations by the end of 2023.
DEWA not only offers digital services for electricity and water management but also provides innovative sustainability services through initiatives like Smart Living, offering features such as consumption monitoring and incentives for smart and sustainable living, according to WAM.
