Dubai Electricity and Water Authority DEWA adds Samsung Pay to its many options for customers to pay their bills conveniently and securely on various digital channels, according to WAM, which makes it the first government entity in Dubai to adopt the Samsung Pay option within its digital channels. Users can benefit from the service through DEWA’s smart app on Samsung smartphones.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, emphasized the organization’s commitment to reinforcing its global leadership and excellence in digital transformation. This involves the adoption of state-of-the-art technologies and inventive solutions, as well as collaborating with governmental and private entities to deliver services that are easily accessible from any location at any time.
“DEWA makes all its services available through its website and smart app to provide real-time, smooth, and value-added services to all stakeholders, saving their time and effort, enhancing their happiness, protecting the environment and reducing the carbon footprint. DEWA also provides many digital channels to complete transactions around the clock. Smart adoption of the DEWA’s services reached 99 percent in 2022. In 2022, DEWA scored 98 percent in the Dubai Government’s Instant Happiness Index, by Dubai Digital Authority,” added Al Tayer.
DEWA and its partners’ digital platforms saw an excess of 10 million transactions made by customers in the year 2022. The smart app offered by DEWA facilitated over 1.5 million transactions, while the organization’s website recorded more than 2.3 million transactions. Additionally, Dubai Now was utilized for more than 800,000 payment processes, and Etisalat payment machines were used for more than 350,000 payment transactions.
