Shenzhen has officially opened China’s groundbreaking urban air mobility (UAM) demonstration complex, marking a significant advancement for airborne sightseeing services, according to a report by China Daily.
The UAM base, spanning 4,600 square meters and constructed in the Bao’an district, features a designated takeoff/landing pad specifically designed for EHang’s EH216-S passenger drones. Additionally, the facility includes hangars, control rooms, and amenities, according to WAM.
During the recent launch event, an EH216-S successfully hovered above the iconic OH Bay recreation site. Bao’an Transport is set to collaborate with EHang to establish operational frameworks for passenger-carrying vehicles and develop a low-altitude economic ecosystem.
