Global cruise operator Celestyal has signed a three-year agreement with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) to promote the emirate as a key destination for its passengers.
The partnership, finalised at Seatrade Global in Miami, aims to strengthen Celestyal’s ties with the region and enhance its presence, according to the company’s stated.
Celestyal will return to the region in December this year with two ships, offering three weekly calls to Abu Dhabi throughout the winter season until March 2026.
Lee Haslett, Chief Commercial Officer at Celestyal, expressed the company’s excitement over the three-year agreement with DCT Abu Dhabi, describing it as a privilege. He highlighted Abu Dhabi’s diverse offerings, which make it an attractive destination for Celestyal guests.
The company looks forward to collaborating closely with its regional partners to showcase the many experiences Abu Dhabi has to offer.
“The cruise industry in the Arabian Gulf is set to welcome record numbers of passengers in the coming years. After a successful first season, we are excited to bring the best of this extraordinary region to our guests for many years,” Haslett added.
Celestyal’s shore excursions include nine Abu Dhabi tours that immerse guests in the heart of the emirate. These tours feature half-day city highlights, culinary and cultural experiences, theme park visits, VIP beach days, and classic desert safaris.
Last year, Celestyal launched the seven-day ‘Desert Days’ itinerary on the Celestyal Journey, carrying 1,260 guests on a roundtrip from Doha, with calls at Bahrain, Dubai, Khasab, Sir Bani Yas Island, and Abu Dhabi. The inaugural season, which runs from November to March 2025, will continue for at least three seasons.
