In its most recent meeting, the UAE Cabinet ratified several decisions, including a revamped structure for the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), mandatory health insurance for all private sector workers, and the implementation of the National Biofuels Policy.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime minister of the UAE, issues Law No. (1) of 2024 introducing a new tax on foreign banks operating in Dubai.

As Dubai’s Ruler, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, and Prime Minister, has issued Decree No. (14) of 2024, appointing new members to The Executive Council of Dubai (TEC) led by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

The General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) has outlined that the recently enacted Federal Law No. 57 of 2023, addressing pension and social security matters, is applicable to Emirati employees initially hired on or after October 31, 2023, in federal, government, or private sector establishments across Dubai, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Um Al Quwain. Additionally, it covers private sector workers in Sharjah.

As a component of Dubai’s Social Agenda 33, initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, within the theme “Family: The Foundation of Our Nation,” the Dubai Police General Command and Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, represented by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises (Dubai SME), have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce the “Dubai Retiree Projects Support” program.
