The 49th edition of Middle East Energy (MEE), which shapes the energy sector in the region and Africa, will upscale industry insights as it more than doubles its conference tracks, expanding from three to six for 2025. Organised by Informa Markets, MEE 2025 will run from April 7-9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and its conference series will bring together over 150 energy leaders and experts from across the region and the globe to explore innovative solutions and transformative sector advancements.

Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has successfully expanded its jurisdiction to include Al Reem Island, integrating over 1,100 entities into its regulatory framework. This strategic move, formalised by UAE Cabinet Resolution No. 41 in April 2023, has significantly increased ADGM’s geographic footprint, positioning it as one of the world’s largest concentrated financial districts.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant in Hatta will begin supplying clean energy to Dubai by April 2025, according to DEWA’s MD & CEO, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer. The AED 1.421 billion project, now 96.82 percent complete, commenced operational testing in January 2025.
