Saudi Arabia is hosting a free public exhibition in Jeddah for those wanting to better understand the “heyday” of its ambitious The Line project.
The Jeddah exhibition offers approximately 50 daily tours in English and Arabic. Interested visitors must register online to obtain tickets for the exhibition.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman earlier unveiled details of the vertical city located within the Kingdom’s NEOM megaproject.
It has since drawn massive online attention, particularly because of its ambitious urban design – two parallel skyscrapers, with mirror surfaces, that stretch for 170 kilometers. The space between the buildings will only be 200 metres wide.
The aim is to house millions of residents using less land area, “it will eventually accommodate 9 million residents and will be built on a footprint of 34 square kilometers,” the NEOM website said.
The total footprint is significantly smaller when compared to other cities of similar capacity, it explained, and “will contribute to conserving 95 percent of NEOM’s land.” There will be no streets, cars, and emissions in The Line.
The Jeddah exhibition offers approximately 50 daily tours in English and Arabic. Interested visitors must register online to obtain tickets. It will be in Jeddah until August 14, but will move to other parts of Saudi Arabia.
