Azizi Developments has committed AED3 billion to the Fathers’ Endowment campaign, an initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The pledge, announced during the 5th Arab Hope Makers initiative in Dubai, coincides with Ramadan and supports healthcare access for those in need.
A Historic Humanitarian Contribution
This donation is the largest private sector pledge in the UAE for a humanitarian cause. It will fund the construction of a humanitarian medical complex, including a hospital, research centre, and medical training facility. The complex, built to international standards, aims to improve healthcare services for underserved communities.
The Fathers’ Endowment campaign seeks to create a sustainable AED1 billion endowment fund to provide long-term healthcare support. This initiative promotes social solidarity, compassion, and parental honor, strengthening the UAE’s role in global philanthropy.
Enhancing Healthcare and Social Responsibility
The announcement followed the agreement signing between His Excellency Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary General of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), and Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments.
Al Gergawi highlighted that Azizi’s generosity reflects the UAE’s humanitarian values. He emphasized that such initiatives ensure sustainable giving, supporting key sectors like education and healthcare.
Mirwais Azizi stated, “We are honored to support this blessed campaign. This initiative will provide medical care to those who cannot afford it, offering them hope and dignity.” He also shared a personal connection, revealing that his late daughter’s struggle with an incurable disease inspired this contribution.
Azizi’s Ongoing Philanthropic Commitment
Azizi Developments has a strong record of charitable giving. In March 2024, the company donated AED600 million to build an educational endowment complex as part of the Mothers’ Endowment campaign. This initiative, also launched by Sheikh Mohammed, established a AED1 billion education fund to support students worldwide.
Through these contributions, Azizi Developments continues to align with the UAE’s vision of inclusive growth, social responsibility, and sustainable philanthropy.
