The Khalifa Empowerment Programme “Aqdar” conducted a thorough assessment of its environmental initiatives during a workshop held at the House of Sustainability in Expo City Dubai, coinciding with COP28.
The workshop featured the participation of Counselor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Dabal, CEO of the Khalifa Aqdar Empowerment Programme, Colonel Rashid Al-Obed, the programme’s general coordinator, and various distinguished guests.
These initiatives concentrate on fostering environmental awareness among young people, aligning with Aqdar’s dedication to active community involvement, according to WAM.
The objectives of these initiatives include honing skills, building teams, and instilling awareness about environmental conservation and tree planting. Highlighting the role of trees in air purification and their contribution to tackling climate change, the initiatives also aim to safeguard beaches from soil erosion.
Moreover, the Khalifa Empowerment Programme organises diverse recreational and educational events in the Emirates’ reserves. These events encompass lectures promoting community awareness of environmental issues and tree-planting activities. Notably, the programme has successfully planted 50,000 mangrove trees, underscoring its commitment to environmental conservation.
