Aldar Properties (Aldar) has joined forces with Siemens to transform Saadiyat Grove, an integrated mixed-use development in Abu Dhabi, into a leading global example of intelligent urban living.
The collaboration agreement was formalised on Thursday during the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi.
Through the utilization of Siemens’ Xcelerator portfolio and its cloud-based Building X platform, Aldar intends to implement the UAE’s inaugural cloud-based smart district management system across the entirety of the Saadiyat Grove community.
This partnership represents a significant investment in smart technology for a mixed-use residential and commercial real estate project, setting a new global standard.
The system will incorporate advanced energy analytics to support emission reductions in line with Aldar’s Net Zero Plan.
IoT sensors deployed throughout the project will monitor air quality and noise levels, while AI technologies will enhance safety, security, and predictive maintenance.
Additionally, the platform will manage asset lifecycles and incorporate digital replicas of the district to optimize operational efficiencies.
This practical application of AI-driven analytics aims to streamline asset management, ensuring high living standards for residents and optimal performance for commercial tenants at Saadiyat Grove.
Jonathan Emery, Chief Executive Officer at Aldar Development, hailed the implementation of the UAE’s first cloud-based district management solution at Saadiyat Grove as a significant milestone in digital technology application within the real estate sector.
Emery emphasized Aldar’s commitment to leveraging innovation for positive impact and sustainability, aiming to introduce new living solutions that lead to meaningful emission reductions.
He also revealed plans to expand the advanced smart district management system beyond Saadiyat Grove, establishing it as a benchmark for smart living in Abu Dhabi.
Helmut von Struve, CEO of Siemens in the Middle East and the UAE, highlighted the benefits of utilizing Siemens Xcelerator’s latest offerings, enabling Aldar to manage its portfolio more efficiently and provide residents and visitors with a safer and more comfortable environment.
Situated in Abu Dhabi’s Cultural District, Saadiyat Grove features a business park covering approximately 26,000 sqm of net leasable area (NLA) with four Grade A commercial office buildings.
Additionally, the retail component of Saadiyat Grove will encompass 78,000 sqm of NLA, including community retail spaces, two retail boulevards, and a central shopping destination.
