Burjeel, a UAE-based hospital operator, has acquired a healthcare facility in Mecca through its Saudi subsidiary.
The purchase of the Specialist Physiotherapy Center, valued at SR6.5 million, strengthens Burjeel’s expanding presence in Saudi Arabia. The Mecca facility caters to the needs of Umrah and Hajj pilgrims, offering physiotherapy services tailored for both tourists and worshippers. In the past two years, the centre has experienced a 2.1x revenue increase, reaching SR3.8 million, reflecting strong patient demand and operational efficiency.
This acquisition provides a valuable opportunity for Burjeel to enhance its brand in a key market, as Mecca attracts millions of pilgrims annually. The facility already has established partnerships with the Makkah Islamic Authority, the Saudi Federation for Soccer, and the National Guard.
“Integrating the Specialist Physiotherapy Center into our network not only strengthens our physiotherapy and rehabilitation services but also supports our broader vision to serve local and international patients, contributing to Saudi Arabia’s medical tourism goals,” said John Sunil, Group CEO of Burjeel Holdings.
Burjeel is currently expanding its Saudi interests by offering targeted healthcare solutions. The company has a stake in the PhysioTherabia network, which is the Kingdom’s largest physiotherapy and wellness network. In the near future, Burjeel plans to introduce new services, including paediatric and neuro rehabilitation, alongside advanced technologies such as a cryo chamber and the David System for physiotherapy.
“The integration of these services will further establish the centre as a leading rehabilitation destination in the Kingdom,” a statement added.
