ADNOC Gas Plc has signed a three-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement worth AED1.5 billion ($400 million) with Germany’s SEFE Securing Energy for Europe. Under the terms, ADNOC will deliver 0.7 million tonnes of LNG to Europe starting this year, bolstering its growing role in the continent’s energy diversification strategy.
LNG Supply from Das Island Facility
The LNG will be sourced from ADNOC Gas’ Das Island liquefaction terminal, a key infrastructure asset in the UAE’s natural gas export portfolio. The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange-listed company stated that the deliveries will support Europe’s energy security efforts amid a shifting global energy landscape.
This new agreement adds to a long-term supply deal SEFE signed with ADNOC last year, strengthening strategic energy ties between the UAE and Europe.
Strategic Energy Cooperation with Europe
The deal highlights ADNOC Gas’s continued expansion in global LNG markets, particularly in Europe, where demand for alternative gas sources has surged. The UAE’s energy strategy increasingly prioritises flexible and reliable supply agreements, supported by its world-class liquefaction infrastructure.
This latest medium-term contract reflects ADNOC’s commitment to offering secure energy solutions and aligns with Europe’s move toward diversifying its energy imports beyond traditional suppliers.
