The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has signed multiple agreements to explore manufacturing opportunities in line with the emirate’s focus on sustainable growth and economic diversification. The agreements were formalised during the Procurement Forum at the first Abu Dhabi Business Week, held from 4-6 December. The forum highlighted the role of the private sector in shaping public sector procurement and driving economic transformation.
ADIO partnered with GEOLLYTO Global Hub to support the local lighting systems industry, including the potential for an assembly line, manufacturing plant, and innovation centre. The agreement also covers investment facilitation and prioritisation in government procurement. ADIO also teamed up with Lumenae Lighting Manufacturing to explore investment opportunities for a lighting production facility in Abu Dhabi, aimed at meeting the region’s demand for energy-efficient solutions.
A further agreement with JST Limited, in collaboration with Aqara, will focus on localising the production of lighting systems in Abu Dhabi and developing smart solutions for homes, schools, and hotels. ADIO also signed a partnership with Daikin to explore energy-efficient cooling systems and the development of smart home solutions with built-in sensors. Additionally, ADIO and Takyeef Factory aim to advance HVAC manufacturing in the emirate.
These partnerships mark a significant step in ADIO’s efforts to boost local manufacturing and innovation. They build on ADIO’s collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Government Enablement (ADDGE) to support the local industrial sector. Badr Al-Olama, Director General of ADIO, stated that these collaborations would strengthen the emirate’s position as a hub for smart urban solutions, fostering a more resilient and competitive economy.
