The MADE Competence Centre in Italy and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) have decided to work together to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and quicken the transformation of Abu Dhabi’s manufacturing industry.
As part of the pact, the leading Italian centre, which supports businesses to manage innovation, will work to build awareness of opportunities linked to Industry 4.0 applications and provide access to best practices.
MADE will also work with ADDED to enhance the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and build the technical capabilities of the industrial workforce to be ready for transformation through the Industry 4.0 skills development program in the emirate.
The two have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the proposed collaboration program.
The MoU was signed by Sameh Al Qubaisi, Director General of Economic Affairs at ADDED, and Augusto De Castro, General Manager of MADE S.C.A R.L, in the presence of Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of ADDED.
Al Blooshi said the agreement with MADE was part of the department’s efforts to work closely with best-in-class partners in various areas to ensure the ecosystem in the emirate is empowering manufacturers to transition to Industry 4.0 technologies.
“We believe investing in human capital is paramount to the success of our initiatives. Therefore, we are focusing on the technical capabilities of the current industrial workforce to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to be ready for the transformation to Industry 4.0,” Al Blooshi said.
“The strategy aims to create 13,600 new knowledge-based, quality jobs,” Al Blooshi added.
