Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) has reported robust financial results for the first quarter of 2025, posting a 20% year-on-year (YoY) increase in profit before tax to AED2.907 billion. The net profit after tax also saw significant growth, reaching AED2.446 billion, according to the bank’s latest financial disclosure released on Tuesday.
The performance was underpinned by a healthy increase in both interest and non-interest income. Net interest income rose by 3% YoY to AED3.394 billion, reflecting steady growth in the bank’s core lending business. Meanwhile, non-interest income surged 26% YoY to AED1.619 billion, indicating successful diversification in fee-based and trading income streams. As a result, ADCB’s total operating income climbed 9% YoY to AED5.013 billion in Q1-2025.
Solid Growth in Assets, Loans, and Deposits Strengthens Market Position
ADCB’s balance sheet remained strong, with total assets rising 14% YoY to AED680 billion, demonstrating the bank’s growing presence and financial stability in the UAE banking sector. The bank’s net loans grew by 13% YoY to AED359 billion, reflecting increased demand for credit across retail, corporate, and government segments.
Customer deposits also recorded healthy growth, increasing by 15% YoY to AED442 billion. This upward trend was supported by sustained inflows into current and savings accounts, as ADCB continues to attract liquidity in a competitive market.
CASA Deposits Continue to Bolster Deposit Mix
A notable aspect of ADCB’s performance was the continued strength in CASA (Current Account and Savings Account) deposits. These now represent 45% of total customer deposits—a clear indication of the bank’s successful efforts to maintain low-cost, stable funding sources. This mix contributes positively to ADCB’s net interest margin and overall funding resilience.
The Q1 2025 results highlight ADCB’s solid fundamentals, prudent risk management, and continued digital and service innovation. With a sharp focus on sustainable growth, the bank remains well-positioned to navigate the evolving economic landscape while delivering value to shareholders and clients alike.
