AD Ports Group, a global leader in integrated trade, industry and logistics solutions, has announced that it has become the world’s first trade and logistics company to receive Tier IV Certification of Constructed Facility, the highest level of data centre accreditation, from the Uptime Institute, a New York-based authority on data centre performance standards.
The achievement underscores the Group’s strong focus on digital transformation, operational resilience and continued technological advancement.
Tier IV certification is awarded to data centres built with full fault tolerance, ensuring uninterrupted operations even during unplanned incidents or system failures.
AD Ports Group’s Tier IV-certified data centre forms the resilient core of its hybrid cloud architecture, enabling mission-critical operations across more than 50 countries worldwide.
Designed to deliver 99.995 per cent availability, the facility features complete redundancy across power, cooling and network infrastructure. It processes over 150 million digital transactions each year, providing a secure and reliable foundation for global supply chain services.
Commenting on the milestone, Mohamed Jamal-Eddine, Group Chief Information Officer at AD Ports Group, said the certification reflects the Group’s leadership in digitalising global trade and its commitment to excellence in digital infrastructure. He noted that the fault-tolerant platform supports the secure deployment of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain and Low Earth Orbit satellite connectivity.
He added that by integrating resilience with innovation, the Group is strengthening business continuity for customers while enabling more efficient, transparent and sustainable logistics solutions that support smarter and more connected global supply chains.
Martin McCarthy, Chief Executive Officer of the Uptime Institute, praised the Abu Dhabi-based group, noting that achieving Tier IV Certification of Constructed Facility involves a demanding process requiring technical mastery and a strong commitment to operational best practices.
He added that AD Ports Group’s leadership in digital infrastructure establishes a new global benchmark for reliability, security and service continuity within the trade and logistics sector.
The Group is using its Tier IV-certified data centre to accelerate the development of advanced, AI-driven solutions for the maritime industry.
The facility also serves as a central hub for real-time data generated through the Group’s Low Earth Orbit satellite connectivity services, supporting the monitoring and optimisation of its global fleet of 270 vessels.
