Abu Dhabi will host the next edition of the Games of the Future in December 2025, after Phygital International selected it as the first Middle Eastern city to stage the global event. This decision strengthens the emirate’s reputation as a world-class hub for innovation in both sport and technology.
Phygital International chose Abu Dhabi for its ambitious vision, advanced infrastructure, and world-class sports venues, which make it an ideal destination for premier international events, according to the organisation’s official website.
The event will run for six days at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), where top international athletes will compete in high-energy contests that combine physical sports with technology-driven video games. Visitors can enjoy a lively atmosphere with electronic gaming, physical challenges, and interactive fan experiences.
Aspire will lead the event’s organisation, building on its strong record in delivering large-scale events, while Ethara, a leading Abu Dhabi-based company, will co-manage the event with its expertise in hosting globally recognised experiences.
Saeed Al Taher, Secretary-General of the UAE Esports Federation, said Abu Dhabi’s role as host showcases its leadership in embracing innovation, especially in artificial intelligence and advanced technology, and places the emirate at the forefront of global digital progress.
