Data from the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi showed that 4.1M hotel guests overall spent time in Abu Dhabi hotels in 2022, a 24% increase from 2021. In 2022, hotel revenue increased by 23% over the previous year to AED 5.4B.
According to the figures, hotels in Abu Dhabi had occupancy rates of 70% during the reference year, up 0.2% from 2021, according to Zawya. The average hotel stay for visitors was roughly three nights, and the average income per available room increased by 19% to AED 263. With a share of 29%, or the equivalent of 1.182 million visitors, UAE citizens made up the majority of hotel guests in the city during the previous year.
With a share of 12%, or the equivalent of 480,000 tourists, Indian nationalities led all other non-Emiratis, up 31% from the same time in 2021. With 4% apiece, the citizens of the United Kingdom, Egypt, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia were next.
