The Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM), an affiliate of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hosted a high-level forum that brought together leading UAE business figures and a visiting Chinese delegation managing assets exceeding US$4.2 trillion (CNY 30 trillion). The event underscored the growing strength of economic and knowledge-based partnerships between Abu Dhabi and Beijing, signalling a new era of collaboration.
Strengthening Bilateral and Educational Ties
The Chinese delegation, led by Dr. Yang Bing, Vice-President of Tsinghua University, included senior executives and founders from diverse sectors — spanning advanced manufacturing, energy, semiconductors, healthcare, finance, real estate, culture, and media. Their participation highlighted China’s global economic reach and its increasing engagement with the UAE.
Welcoming the delegation, Khalid Al Fahim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Family Business Council and Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, emphasised the UAE’s openness to international partnerships and its strong, diversified economy.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mark Poulin, Acting President of ADSM, reaffirmed the School’s commitment to fostering global academic and business cooperation. He noted that innovation and shared prosperity remain central to the UAE’s long-term vision for sustainable development.
Investment, Innovation, and Strategic Dialogue
The programme featured sessions and presentations highlighting Abu Dhabi’s investment climate, economic diversification, and entrepreneurship ecosystem. Distinguished speakers included Joseph Chamoun, Head of Investor Relations at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office; Dr. Monica Malik, Chief Economist at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank; Hajar Al Ansari from Hub71; and Magnus Olsson, Co-founder of Careem and Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Chamber.
A central panel discussion, “Strengthening Abu Dhabi–China Relations: The Strategic Framework for International Business in Abu Dhabi,” brought together leaders from Investopia, Lloyds Banking Group, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, and Emirati cultural experts. Together, they discussed practical strategies to deepen commercial and investment cooperation while highlighting Abu Dhabi’s growing role as a bridge between East and West.
Advancing Global Competitiveness
Concluding the forum, Dr. Poulin reiterated ADSM’s mission to cultivate globally minded business leaders capable of driving innovation and strengthening the UAE’s global competitiveness.
Tsinghua University, ranked first in China and 20th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2025, has produced numerous top policymakers and business pioneers in China. The event marked a milestone in advancing Abu Dhabi–Beijing cooperation across innovation, entrepreneurship, and executive education, reinforcing both cities’ ambitions to lead in the future knowledge economy.
