The Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) has unveiled a major collaboration with Microsoft and Core42, a subsidiary of G42, to establish an advanced sovereign cloud system. This initiative aims to boost the efficiency and innovation of government services.
The long-term agreement was officially signed by Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of DGE – Abu Dhabi, Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, and Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42.
This partnership will establish a high-performance sovereign cloud computing environment designed to manage over 11 million daily digital interactions involving Abu Dhabi’s government entities, businesses, citizens, and residents.
“This partnership marks a crucial step in our digital transformation,” stated Al Kuttab. “By integrating Microsoft’s cloud technologies, G42’s AI capabilities, and the Government’s strategic vision, we are creating a powerful platform that will transform government services.”
Abu Dhabi aims to achieve the status of a fully AI-native government by 2027. This ambitious initiative seeks to enhance government services by improving efficiency, accessibility for citizens and residents, transparency for businesses and investors, and fostering a more resilient and innovative public sector workforce.
