Abu Dhabi has recently taken several measures to boost its business tourism sector, including the establishment of public-private partnerships, the introduction of financial incentives, and the development of world-class exhibition and conference facilities. Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau (ADCEB), which operates under the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), has joined hands with ADNEC Group, the owner and operator of Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, to advance its business development plans. This move is part of ADCEB’s approach to utilize public-private partnerships to boost B2B events and incentive travel in the region.
The newly established ADCEB and ADNEC Group Joint Fund will offer financial support and incentives to corporate meeting planners and incentive houses. It will also emphasize Abu Dhabi’s position as a secure destination that is entirely available for business tourism. The Director-General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, expressed that the collaboration with ADNEC Group is a significant move towards strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a top global destination for all types of business events. Al Geziry believes that the combined skills and knowledge of ADCEB and ADNEC Group, which possess an impressive portfolio of event, tourism, and hospitality assets, will allow them to provide an exceptional destination package that highlights the best of the emirate. The ultimate goal is to attract more large-scale and high-profile events to Abu Dhabi.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, the Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, expressed his satisfaction in partnering with the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau to establish the joint fund for international corporate meeting and event organizers interested in hosting their events at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. This partnership is a part of ADNEC Group’s ongoing efforts to boost business tourism in Abu Dhabi and the UAE and attract more companies to select Abu Dhabi as the perfect location for any meetings, conferences, exhibitions, or events. Al Dhaheri emphasized ADNEC Group’s commitment to enhancing Abu Dhabi’s status as a remarkable global destination for hosting events. They accomplish this by using contemporary facilities, advanced infrastructure, and high-quality services, which are capable of accommodating events of any scale.
ADCEB has implemented various strategies to enhance and accelerate the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector, including upgrading its Advantage Abu Dhabi Meetings & Incentives program to 2.0. Additionally, the organization launched the MICE Agencies Reward Scheme, which aims to provide intermediaries such as agencies, planners, and travel management companies with training, industry updates, and the latest products. The newly formed ADCEB and ADNEC Group Joint Fund is another tool for Domestic and International Agencies, specifically DMCs and Event Planners, to promote Abu Dhabi and to address the gap in Advantage Abu Dhabi’s support for groups with more than 500 delegates. Interested parties can apply for support through the ADCEB-ADNEC Joint Fund by submitting their inquiry or Request For Proposal (RFP) to either ADCEB or ADNEC Group, for events scheduled until December 31, 2024.
