Jasem Albudaiwi encourages stronger efforts to boost regional economic integration
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Albudaiwi, met with the GCC negotiating team for free trade agreements via video conference. During the session, the team updated him on ongoing negotiations with several countries and highlighted recent progress.
Albudaiwi urged the negotiators to intensify their efforts to secure the common interests and desired benefits for the peoples of GCC member states. He emphasised that successful agreements would strengthen the GCC’s position as a key economic partner both regionally and internationally.
Reiterating the General Secretariat’s support, Albudaiwi stressed that free trade agreements play a crucial role in advancing economic integration among GCC countries. He also highlighted their potential to expand cooperation across multiple sectors with the GCC’s global partners, reinforcing the council’s vision for broader economic collaboration.
