Kuwait has confirmed a public holiday to mark the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). The Cabinet announced that work in ministries, government bodies, and public institutions will be suspended on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in observance of the occasion (1447 AH).
Extended Weekend for Residents
As Friday and Saturday already constitute the regular weekend, this decision gives many residents a three-day break. Official duties across the public sector will resume on Sunday, September 7.
Operational Exceptions Apply
The announcement was made during the Cabinet’s weekly meeting, chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al Sabah. However, entities operating on special schedules will coordinate with their respective authorities to manage holiday timings.
