US-based Parsons Corporation has been appointed as the project management consultant for the Dubai Metro Blue Line by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The announcement marks a significant step forward in the development of the 30-kilometre line, which will include 14 stations and is expected to begin operations in 2029.
Under the agreement, Parsons will provide end-to-end project management services, including design review, procurement support, construction supervision, testing and commissioning oversight, and project handover.
The company has a strong legacy in the UAE, having worked on the Green Line of the Dubai Metro, the new Abu Dhabi International Airport, Saadiyat Island, and the Dubai Design District. Its long-standing partnership with the RTA includes iconic infrastructure such as the Infinity Bridge, the Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre, and over 100 other transport-related projects across the emirate.
Pierre Santoni, President of Infrastructure EMEA at Parsons, said: “We are proud of our enduring relationship with the RTA and look forward to supporting their efforts to expand Dubai’s public transport network through innovative and sustainable solutions.”
Malek Ramadan Mishmish, Director of Rail Planning and Project Development at RTA, noted: “Parsons’ expertise and track record with RTA projects make them a valuable partner. This collaboration supports our goal of making Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world through future-ready mobility infrastructure.”
The Blue Line will improve connectivity across key areas, including Mirdif, Silicon Oasis, Creek Harbour, and Festival City. Once operational, it is expected to handle up to 320,000 passengers per day, significantly enhancing the emirate’s transport capacity and urban integration.
