Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed it will introduce a two-month traffic diversion at the Al Barari Underpass on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), commencing at midnight on 28 June.
This initiative forms part of a wider infrastructure project aimed at enhancing rainwater and groundwater drainage systems, as well as resurfacing key road sections.
Drivers are advised to use alternative routes, such as the Dubai–Al Ain Bridge for U-turns heading towards Jebel Ali, or the Global Village Underpass and Umm Suqeim Street junction for U-turns towards Sharjah, to minimise travel disruptions.
Similar diversions are set to be implemented at other significant underpasses, including the Mudon Underpass on Emirates Road and the Umm Al Daman Underpass on Dubai–Al Ain Road, also beginning on 28 June.
Each of these projects is expected to continue for two months, aligning with preparations for the peak seasonal rainfall period.
