Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the Professional Engineering Career Path scheme, the first of its kind in the UAE. This programme offers a dedicated career route for engineers, aligning with labour market needs and promoting job security. Additionally, the RTA has introduced the Fast Track initiative, targeting high-achieving Emirati engineering graduates and equipping them with both technical and managerial skills to build future engineering leaders within the organisation.
These initiatives aim to support the development of Emirati talent by offering the necessary resources for career growth, improving job satisfaction, and enhancing the overall work environment and operational efficiency. They also align with national strategies to advance Emiratisation by upskilling local talent with specialised and technical capabilities to ensure long-term employment stability.
Both programmes reflect the RTA’s commitment to fulfilling the leadership’s vision of investing in young Emiratis, fostering an environment that inspires innovation and excellence. They provide Emirati engineers with structured pathways to grow professionally within the RTA while ensuring greater job security.
The Professional Engineering Career Path, expected to begin in the last quarter of 2024, is exclusively for engineers and presents a clear route for progression. It enables promotions from Grade 11 (Engineer) up to Grade 16 (Consultant Engineer), encouraging a competitive spirit among Emirati engineers and driving them to achieve higher productivity and leadership roles.
