Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, stated that the rise in non-oil trade between the UAE and Oman demonstrates the strong ties between the two nations.
He mentioned that these close relations play a key role in helping both countries achieve their development objectives and that this positive trend supports economic expansion, enabling their business communities to form enduring partnerships.
His remarks were made during his official visit to Muscat, where he took part in the ‘Advantage Oman Forum 2025’, an event aimed at showcasing future investment prospects in emerging sectors.
Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi highlighted that Oman remains the UAE’s second-largest trading partner within the GCC, noting that non-oil trade between the two nations reached AED56.2 billion (US$15.3 billion) in 2024, representing a 9.8% rise compared to 2023 and a 32.4% increase compared to 2020.
He emphasised that the relationship between the UAE and Oman serves as a model for a strategic partnership between neighbouring nations, focused on achieving prosperity and sustainable development. Their collaboration reflects the aspirations of their peoples and advances growth on both sides.
During his visit, Dr Al Zeyoudi also met with Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, along with several other senior officials, where they discussed ways to strengthen the ties between their respective countries.
In addition, Al Zeyoudi held talks with various ministers and senior figures to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation across areas of shared interest.
Organised by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the ‘Advantage Oman Forum 2025’ explored the prospects within the global investment landscape, emerging trends in promising sectors, and new opportunities for growth.
