The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has officially launched the Slovak Business Council, an initiative designed to enhance bilateral trade and investment with Slovakia. Operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, this council aims to create a dynamic platform for cooperation between Slovak and Emirati businesses across key sectors.
The council was inaugurated during its first annual general meeting held at the Dubai Chambers’ headquarters. During the meeting, participants explored business synergies, discussed joint ventures, and reviewed strategies for expanding cooperation. They also committed to hosting bilateral events that will support trade facilitation and knowledge exchange.
Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, described the initiative as a vital step forward. “The establishment of the Slovak Business Council represents a significant step in strengthening economic relations between Dubai and Slovakia. The council will serve as a vital platform to unlock new partnership opportunities and contribute to the growth of bilateral trade and investments,” she stated.
Slovak Investment in Dubai on the Rise
Recent data highlights a growing Slovak presence in Dubai’s business ecosystem. By the end of 2024, the number of Slovakian companies registered with the Dubai Chamber reached 134 — marking a 41% increase compared to the previous year. Moreover, in just the first quarter of 2025, 10 new Slovak companies joined the chamber’s network.
This upward trend is reflected in trade volumes as well. Non-oil trade between Dubai and Slovakia reached AED 3.4 billion in 2024. This figure represents a 38% increase year-on-year, showcasing the strength and potential of this economic partnership.
Fostering Long-Term Partnerships
The Slovak Business Council is expected to play a central role in accelerating cross-border collaboration. By facilitating regular engagement between business leaders, the council helps bridge knowledge gaps and open new market opportunities.
Furthermore, the Dubai Chamber continues to support foreign investors by providing access to strategic insights and facilitating connections with local businesses. With the Slovak Business Council now active, both markets are well-positioned to explore innovative solutions and expand trade across emerging industries.
