The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) is set to spotlight Ajman’s progress as a prime tourism destination during the World Travel Market (WTM) in London from November 5 to 7, 2024. The ATDD plans to showcase its extensive projects to elevate Ajman’s global appeal and emphasize initiatives supporting its thriving tourism sector.
With aims to expand partnerships with international travel firms, the ATDD will feature Ajman’s premier attractions, including natural reserves, cultural landmarks like the Ajman Museum, and scenic beaches. Director General H.E. Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi explained, “The World Travel Market exhibition serves as a vital forum that convenes travel and tourism industry experts and leaders around the world. It paves the way to reinforce our key partnerships in the sector, exchange expertise and insights, and explore recent developments and innovations that are steering the global tourism industry.”
H.E. Alhashmi added that the event aligns with Ajman Vision 2030, which seeks to bolster Ajman’s position as a sought-after destination through various projects enhancing tourism infrastructure and sustainable growth. The ATDD’s presence will be supported by participating local hotels and travel companies, including Ajman Saray Hotel, The Oberoi Beach Resort Ajman, and more.
This year, Ajman recorded an 11% increase in tourists from the UK between January and September 2024 compared to the previous year, and a notable 8.1% increase in the length of stays. September 2024 saw a 5% rise in revenue for Ajman’s tourism sector, a 3% growth in occupancy, and an 11% increase in guest numbers, further solidifying Ajman’s popularity among tourists.
The ATDD oversees tourism management, event planning, and the delivery of high-quality tourism services, aiming to provide exceptional experiences for Ajman’s visitors, locals, and residents.
