Dubai Metro will extend its operating hours over the weekend.
To accommodate the anticipated surge of passengers at Dubai International Airport this weekend, the Metro will run for longer hours until Sunday, 25 August.
The airport is expecting to handle 3.43 million passengers between 21 August and 2 September.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) anticipates daily passenger numbers to average 264,000 during this period.
In a statement on X, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced: “RTA is dedicated to ensuring seamless travel by extending Dubai Metro’s operating hours between Centrepoint and GGICO stations from 5am to 2am (the following day) on 22 to 24 August, and from 8am to 2am (the following day) on Sunday.”
The busiest days are expected to be 31 August and 1 September, with over half a million travellers anticipated during this two-day period.
On 1 September, the airport is projected to experience its peak, with 291,000 passengers expected to pass through.
