Team Future Gadget Lab from Kuwait and Team Beyond Limits from the UAE secured first and second place, respectively, in the regional semifinal of the fourth annual Tech4Good Competition, held alongside the Seeds for the Future 2024 Programme in Tashkent.
Huawei, in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, concluded the regional finals with a grand awards ceremony in Tashkent.
Similarly, Team Nabeeh from Saudi Arabia, Team Sufun from Oman, and Team AquaLucens from Bahrain were acknowledged for their exceptional projects. Amanzhan Sabyrgali from Kazakhstan and Zainab Al Zaimoor from Bahrain were named Mentors’ Favourites for their skills and positive impact on their teams.
The closing ceremony was attended by key figures including Rustam Karimjonov, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies, and Nausheen Adnan, a Pakistani Member of Parliament and Advisor on Educational Reforms.
Shunli Wang, Vice President of Huawei Middle East and Central Asia, highlighted the significance of the 2024 programme, marking both the 10th anniversary of the initiative in Uzbekistan and Huawei’s 25th year in the country.
This year’s Seeds for the Future programme brought together 150 students from 14 countries across the Middle East and Central Asia. Participants enhanced their ICT skills and cultural understanding through various sessions, workshops, and competitions, focusing on areas such as 5G, AI, and cloud technologies. They also had the opportunity to engage with professionals at Huawei and Artel.
Huawei’s Seeds for the Future programme, launched in 2008, is a global CSR initiative that has involved over 18,000 students from 141 countries, fostering a new generation of ICT leaders and innovators.
