The United Arab Emirates, represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), conducted a series of Air Services Consultations with the Civil Aviation Authority of the People’s Republic of China (CAAC) on 16th and 17th July in Beijing.
The objective was to strengthen bilateral air transport relations and increase air connectivity between the UAE and China. Leading the UAE delegation was Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA.
Following the discussions, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to enhance air connectivity between UAE and Chinese airports.
Additionally, both sides agreed to boost collaboration in the civil aviation sector and explore new initiatives to reinforce bilateral aviation relations.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA, underscored the authority’s commitment to enhancing air transport services, expanding its global footprint, and improving air connectivity for UAE carriers. He praised the agreements reached during the talks, anticipating a significant positive impact on mutually beneficial economic sectors.
He highlighted the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange between the two countries in aviation security, safety, air transport, the aviation industry, and aviation sector investments.
Al Suwaidi noted that the inaugural Air Connectivity Forum between the two countries, held on 15th July, played a pivotal role in achieving positive outcomes from the negotiations. He stressed the necessity of regular forums to bolster economic and trade relations between the UAE and China.
