RTA has announced a new Nol card offering discounts of up to AED 17,000 on a variety of products and services, now available to tourists, residents, and citizens starting Monday, June 10th.
As per the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), holders of the Nol Travel Card can utilise it to cover expenses for public transport, parking, and other leisure activities in Dubai.
Additionally, the new card extends discounts ranging from five to 10 per cent across hotels, shops, adventure activities, entertainment venues, and other partner offers in the city.
Initially, the Nol Travel Card will be accessible at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and select partner stores like Zoom and Europcard.
Originally priced at AED 200 annually with a starting balance of AED 19, the card can be renewed after one year for AED 150.
However, existing Nol cardholders won’t have the option to switch to the newly introduced Nol Travel card presently, although the RTA stated they would consider it in the future.
Nol Travel Card to Offer Extensive Discounts and Integrated Payment Solutions
Mohammed Al Mudharreb, CEO of the Corporate Technology Support Services Sector at RTA, stated, “This card is designed to meet customers’ needs, integrating public transportation and city facilities into one card, serving as a unified payment method with discounts exceeding 100 per cent and a value of over AED 17,000.”
Salahaldeen Almarzouqi, director of the Automated Collection Systems Department, mentioned during a press briefing that the newly launched card will feature its own packages with varied benefits and discounts.
“It’s a physical card, but we plan to introduce a digital card through a barcode. The Nol Travel Card offers unique advantages, while other cards have distinct categories and benefits,” added Almarzouqi, noting that the RTA will explore the possibility of transferring balances from existing Nol Cards to the newly launched Nol Travel card in the future.
Amr Abdelsamad, managing director of MDX Solutions, highlighted that there are currently over 100 partners and facilities, including restaurants and entertainment venues, where this card is accepted, with this number expected to grow over time.
