Introducing a groundbreaking development, a floating pedestrian bridge is set to connect the two sides of Al Mamzar Beach, marking a historic first for Dubai.This announcement came on Monday as part of a broader initiative by Dubai’s urban planning committee to enhance two of its most popular beaches, Al Mamzar and Jumeirah 1.
The 200-meter bridge will provide a unique crossing experience for beachgoers, while Deira will see its first 24/7 night beach as part of this ambitious development project.

Major Beach Developments
The Dh355-million project aims to revamp a 4.3km stretch of Al Mamzar Beach and a 1.4km section of Jumeirah 1 Beach, with an expected completion time of 18 months. While development is underway, parts of the beaches will remain open, ensuring public access with enhanced safety measures.

New Features and Amenities
Once completed, the revamped beaches will offer extensive facilities:
- Tracks and Walkways: 11km of bicycle and running tracks, along with a 5km tree-lined walkway.
- Activity Areas: Designated spots for barbecues, fitness activities, and children’s games.
- Beach Rest Houses and Event Spaces: Seasonal spaces for various events.
- Parking and Green Spaces: 1,400 car parking spots and an automatic irrigation system to maintain greenery.
- Modern Amenities: Safety deposit boxes, WiFi, electronic screens, beach rescue services, and 100 security cameras linked to Dubai Municipality and police control rooms.

Investment Opportunities
Additionally, the project unveils 50 investment opportunities, spanning from water activity leasing to commercial kiosks, restaurants, self-service machines for food and beverages, advertising spaces, and beach seating with umbrellas.
Expanding Dubai’s Coastline
This initiative aligns with Dubai’s ambitious plan to expand its coastline by 400%, increasing the length of public beaches from 21km to 105km. Currently, Dubai boasts eight public beaches: Khor Al Mamzar, Al Mamzar Corniche, Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3, Umm Suqeim 1, Umm Suqeim 2, and Jebel Ali.
