The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has entered into two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Brazil and Switzerland to bolster collaboration in the realm of air transportation.
These agreements were formalized during the UAE delegation’s involvement in the fifteenth ICAO Air Services Negotiation (ICAN2023) event, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.
In addition, the GCAA engaged in bilateral meetings with representatives from civil aviation authorities in Russia, Jordan, and Lebanon. Discussions during these meetings revolved around exploring potential avenues for bilateral cooperation and identifying opportunities for advancing collaboration to more progressive and open levels.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to enhancing cooperation frameworks in air transportation with countries worldwide. This initiative aims to strengthen communication ties with the international community, fostering new prospects in commerce, investment, and tourism.
Al Suwaidi highlighted that the ICAN conference serves as an optimal platform for discussing, communicating, and establishing partnerships with countries globally. The UAE consistently strives to actively participate in such forums, reinforcing its presence on the international stage.
