On Friday, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court, was present at the Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi to witness the final match of the UAE President’s Cup.
The Sharjah Club was declared the winner of the UAE President’s Cup by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed following their victory over Al Ain Club in a penalty shootout. His Highness expressed his congratulations to the players from both teams for their hard work and exceptional skills displayed during the final match of this highly sought-after cup in UAE football.
Sharjah’s win marks their tenth time holding the title and their second consecutive win after they won in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw, according to WAM.
His Highness noted that the wise leadership places special emphasis on the development of the sports sector by supporting national clubs, enabling athletes to excel, and offering them all the necessary resources for success.
H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Executive Director of the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office, H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the UAE Football Association (UAEFA), Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of Qatari Football Association (QFA), Abdullah Al-Shaheen, President of Kuwaiti Football Association (KFA), Adnan Darjal, President of Iraqi Football Association (IFA), and Dato’ Windsor, General Secretary of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) were also in attendance watching the match.
