Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the creation of an agriculture accelerator fund to support agritech startups founded by young entrepreneurs in rural areas. The fund will focus on providing financial support for innovative solutions that address the challenges faced by farmers.
The government has also taken steps to modernize the agricultural sector by investing INR 25.16 billion to computerize 63,000 primary agricultural credit societies. These efforts demonstrate the government’s commitment to supporting the growth of the agricultural sector, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, and addressing the needs of farmers.
