Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, chaired the first UAE cabinet meeting of 2023 and announced the UAE’s top priorities for 2023. Afterward, His Highness shared on Twitter details of the UAE priorities for the year ahead and provided a summary of 2022.

- Educational system and the development of its vision, indicators and outputs.
- Emiratisation and its acceleration.
- Expanding the UAE’s international economic partnerships.
The message said: “We have five government priorities during 2023 that we approved today in the Council of Ministers. The first: national identity and its consolidation. The second: the environment and enhancing its sustainability. The third: the educational system and the development of its vision, indicators and outputs. The fourth: the localization process and its acceleration. The fifth: our international economic partnerships and their expansion.”
Identifying the achievements made by the UAE cabinet last year, Sheikh Mohammed revealed the number of decisions, laws and regulations planned last year.
Sheikh Mohammed said: “The Cabinet issued more than 900 decisions. A total of 22 government policies were developed and approved, 68 federal laws were revised and issued, 113 national regulatory regulations were drafted, approved, and implemented.”
He also identified the work done by the government last year.
“In 2022, the government formed more than 120 teams from 110 federal and local authorities and 50 private sector agencies to work on updating more than 100 federal social, economic, educational, and regulatory laws to stay current with many changes that have passed us and the world,” said Sheikh Mohammed in a tweet.
“Our country was ranked among the top five countries in the world in 339 developmental, economic, and social indicators in 2022.
The UAE cabinet has previously set the country’s federal budget for 2023 and until 2026. The nation’s federal budget for the period was approved with a total expenditure of AED252.3 billion ($68.69 billion) and a revenue of AED255.7 billion.A budget for the year 2023 has been set up, with expected expenses totaling AED 63.066 billion and proposed revenues of AED 63.613 billion.
