The Esaad card will be given out by Dubai to senior persons, pensioners, hard-working individuals, and those with low incomes.
The move is part of the support extended to these social categories, where Dubai Police, Community Development Authority in Dubai, Local Military Pensions and Social Security Fund in Dubai, Abu Dhabi Pension Fund, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and General Pension and Social Security Authority will get in touch with the identified recipients and start issuing the cards.
The privilege card, which was established in 2017 by the Dubai Police, provides extensive benefits to cardholders such as discounts in health, education, housing, restaurants, shops, theme parks, hotels, among others.
Discounts are also extended over 7,200 brands and businesses in the UAE and 92 countries the world over.
The move also reflects the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to provide optimal support to improve citizens’ lives, by providing a decent lifestyle to all society members, through programmes and initiatives that promote happiness, Dubai Police’s commander in chief Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri said.
Ahmed Abdul Karim Julfar, director-general of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, stated, “[The issuing of the Esaad card] indicates the level of social welfare in Dubai and the UAE.”
