Freight services on the UAE’s national railway network have continued to operate steadily, with Etihad Rail Freight reporting significant cargo movement across the country over the past nine days.
During this period, the company transported approximately 459,000 tonnes of goods and close to 7,900 containers, reflecting the growing capacity of the UAE’s rail logistics infrastructure and its expanding role in supporting national supply chains.
The sustained flow of cargo comes at a time when regional tensions have disrupted some global shipping routes and logistics channels, increasing the importance of reliable domestic transport networks. The UAE’s rail system has helped ensure that goods continue to move efficiently despite these external pressures.
Rail freight is becoming increasingly important in strengthening supply chain resilience, enabling businesses to move large volumes of cargo efficiently between ports, industrial zones, and distribution centres across the Emirates.
Officials noted that the rail network continues to support the country’s logistics and trade ecosystem, reinforcing the UAE’s strategy of building advanced transport infrastructure that enhances connectivity and economic stability.
