Qatar has begun a partial resumption of air navigation, allowing a limited number of evacuation and cargo flights to operate. However, Doha’s airspace remains restricted, and regular commercial passenger services have not yet restarted.
The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority said the limited reopening is being carried out through designated contingency routes operating at reduced capacity. The process is being managed in coordination with the country’s armed forces and other relevant national authorities.
Flight activity is currently limited to a small number of operations, primarily focused on evacuating passengers and supporting essential cargo transport. The step aims to maintain critical aviation services while wider restrictions remain in place.
Authorities said aviation agencies remain on high operational alert and are working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety of passengers, aviation personnel, and infrastructure.
Officials added that developments are being closely monitored and further updates will be issued when necessary. Travellers have been advised to stay informed by checking the latest information from their respective airlines.
The authority clarified that scheduled commercial flights to and from Doha remain suspended for now. Full operations will resume only when conditions allow for the safe reopening of Qatar’s airspace.
Hamad International Airport confirmed that only a limited number of evacuation and cargo flights will operate during this period. The airport noted that airspace restrictions remain in place due to the ongoing regional situation.
Airport officials emphasised that the safety of passengers and staff remains the highest priority. Normal flight operations will resume once authorities determine that the airspace can be safely reopened.
In the meantime, the airport is coordinating with government entities and airline partners to assist affected travellers and manage cargo operations. Passengers have been advised to contact their airlines directly for updates before heading to the airport.
