Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) is reportedly holding preliminary discussions to participate in fundraising for the artificial intelligence firm co-led by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Project Prometheus aims to raise tens of billions of dollars to acquire companies affected by AI, seeking to capitalise on the technological disruption it is expected to create.
The company is focusing on sectors such as automotive, aerospace, and computer manufacturing and engineering.
The Emirati sovereign wealth fund is among the investors in initial talks with Project Prometheus as part of the fundraising process, according to the Financial Times on Friday.
Bezos assumed the role of co-CEO at Prometheus Labs in late 2025, marking his first formal operational position since stepping down as Amazon CEO in 2021.
While details about Project Prometheus remain limited, reports from November 2025 indicated the firm already employed over 100 staff, including senior recruits from competitors such as Google DeepMind and OpenAI.
ADIA is one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, managing assets exceeding $1 trillion.
In late 2025, the fund invested $65 million in Chinese AI company MiniMax as part of its initial public offering.
In September of the previous year, it expanded its investment in US data centre operator Vantage Data Centers to support the company’s growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
