The Ministry of Foreign Trade has partnered with Presight, a G42 company based in Abu Dhabi, to develop the Ministry of Foreign Trade AI Platform, a suite of artificial intelligence tools designed to accelerate foreign trade and reinforce the UAE’s position as a global trading hub. The signing was attended by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.
The platform will be embedded across the Ministry’s core functions, aiming to make it the world’s first AI-driven trade ministry. Moreover, it will analyse millions of data points from ports, shipping routes, customs records, international laws, and trade agreements in real time. As a result, both public and private sector actors will gain detailed intelligence to forecast potential disruptions, identify new opportunities, and navigate regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
AI integration to optimise trade operations
The platform will provide AI-powered services to traders, including smart certificates of origin, while also enhancing the Ministry’s policy-making capabilities. By improving data analysis and trade forecasting, the initiative is expected to accelerate merchandise movement, reduce bottlenecks, and support negotiation of advantageous trade deals.
Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, stated: “Trade is one sector where AI can have the most immediate impact, replacing cumbersome, human-centred processes with real-time data analysis and forecasting to accelerate merchandise movements, reduce disruptions and identify high-potential opportunities. This partnership will enable the UAE to surpass our already ambitious foreign trade objectives and create a model of excellence for other trading nations to follow.”
Strengthening UAE’s role in global supply chains
Mansoor Al Mansoori, Vice Chairman of Presight, said the platform will give decision-makers early insights to reduce friction, compress timelines, and improve operational confidence, thereby enhancing the UAE’s leadership in international supply chains. Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, added that the platform will deliver operational efficiencies, minimise trade disruptions, and become the sector’s gold standard.
The Ministry of Foreign Trade AI Platform is one of eight strategic pillars of the UAE Global Centre of Trade programme, launched in November 2025. The initiative seeks to boost non-oil exports, attract international trading and manufacturing companies, and equip exporters with advanced tools to expand into new markets.
