Gulf Navigation Holding has commenced the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase for its Fujairah naphtha upgrading project, which is intended to support the production of Euro5-compliant gasoline.
The project is being implemented through Brooge Petroleum and Gas Investments (BPGIC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Gulf Navigation.
The official kick-off for this stage of the design process has taken place, with the FEED scope being delivered in collaboration with Italian engineering firm PEG, while Honeywell UOP is providing the licensed technologies.
The FEED phase is expected to run for approximately nine months, subject to the progress of engineering deliverables and associated technical requirements.
The initial phase of the development is designed to achieve an estimated processing capacity of around 15,000 barrels per day.
Saif Al-Hazaymeh, CEO of Gulf Navigation Holding and Brooge Petroleum and Gas Investments, said the launch of detailed engineering design work marks a significant milestone for the refinery project, reflecting its progression to a more advanced stage of technical and engineering readiness.
BPGIC added that the project aligns with the UAE’s broader strategy to advance the petroleum sector, enhance local value creation, and strengthen national capabilities in refining, operations, and maintenance.
