With the signing of a contract with Saudi-based Expertise Contracting Company for the delivery of 79 Demag AC cranes, Demag, one of the world’s leading providers of industrial cranes, crane components, and full service, has secured its largest order in 15 years.
Demag Cranes, a German heavy equipment manufacturer, is now owned by Tadano, a Japanese company, according to a $215 million agreement agreed with Terex in 2019. Rough terrain and all-terrain cranes, lattice and telescopic boom crawler cranes, and truck cranes are among the lifting equipment available.
The industrial cranes behemoth had dispatched a high-level official delegation to Zweibrücken, Germany, for the contract signing ceremony, owing to the mega order, which included 50 Demag AC 55-3 units, 17 Demag AC 130-5s, 11 Demag AC 250-5s, and one Demag AC 500-8 unit, according to a statement from the company.
This was not just Demag’s largest order in the last 15 years, but also the largest ever from a Saudi Arabian customer.
Expertise, a significant player in the kingdom, serves over 1,500 customers from the petrochemical, oil and gas production, energy, and other industrial sectors throughout the Middle East.
Expertise confirmed the significant supply deal, saying that the requirement for so many high-performance all-terrain cranes emerged as a result of its major contract victory with Saudi oil behemoth Aramco.
“Demag cranes have a great reputation throughout the Arab world, and our experience confirms that,” said Expertise President and CEO Mohammed Ashif, who travelled to Zweibrücken with Industrial Services Director Mahammad Ashpak to sign the related contract.
Both of them also underlined how crucial it is that the two organisations have a long history of working well together in a trusting atmosphere.
At the signing event, Tadano Demag GmbH CEO Jens Ennen and Tadano Demag Vice President of Production Jan Wieser, Tadano Middle East Senior Sales Manager Deepak Jain, and Tadano Middle East Service Technician Benjamin Bernhardt represented the German heavy equipment company.
“It’s not every day that you come across an order of this scale. In fact, we’re quite delighted that one of the Middle East’s greatest brands has chosen to use our products “Ennen said, emphasising how important this order was to Demag.
“For us at Demag, this deal is a firm vote of confidence in the quality of our products and services from an important customer that we appreciate enormously,” Jain said of the huge order.
“On top of that, the fact that a company as prominent as Expertise chose Demag will have reverberations throughout the region.”
